People with extremely different philosophical views and ideas who distrust authority, call concepts like objective truth, the authority and inerrancy of Scripture, language and how we relate to each other into question, in what is known as postmodernism. The ideas of postmodernism have found their way into the church at large in a movement known as the Emerging or Emergent Church. In a nutshell, the Emergent Church movement seeks to reach the lost with the Christian Gospel by adapting it to present day culture.
