An individual or business that is not a health care provider and does not meet the definition of a health care provider according to the NPI Final Rule. “Atypical” means non-traditional medical services. Examples are pest control, remodeling, chore services, non-emergency transportation providers, and so forth. HP Enterprise Services will continue to identify providers that are not eligible for an NPI with their Arkansas Medicaid Provider ID.
