Referenced Text: Pursuant to 6 CFR § 27.203(a)(6), in calculating whether a facility possesses a chemical of interest that meets the STQ for any security issue, a facility need not include chemicals of interest contained in articles, as defined in 40 CFR § 68.3. As defined in EPA’s RMP regulation, an “article” is a manufactured item formed to a specific shape or design that has end use functions dependent on the shape or design and that does not release or result in exposure to a regulated substance under normal use or processing.
