What is the definition of acemannan?
As defined by the United States Adpoted Names Council, acemannan is a purified drug comprised of highly dispersed β1,4-linked acetylated polymannan with an average molecular weight of 1 to 2 million Daltons. The USDA has authorized Carrington Laboratories to use acemannan immunostimulant, (a purified injectable acemannan product) for the treatment of fibrosarcom in dogs and cats.
