Almost all rock ‘n’ roll, rap, pop or any other form of popular music today utilizes a percussion instrument of some sort. Percussion instruments are commonly used in classical pieces as well. In fact, percussion instruments, in one form or another, have existed for thousands of years. Though generally associated with rhythm, many of these instruments are also made to create melody and harmony.
