What is the definition of a completion for the purposes of entering data into the competency completion online system?
A qualification completion is counted in the year the award/certificate is issued. For example: if a group of students completed their final assessment for a qualification in late 2008 but were not issued with their qualification until early 2009, the completions are to be recorded in the data for the 2009 calendar year. A unit of competency completion is recorded in the year in which the student successfully completed the unit (i.e. has been assessed as ‘competent’) and would have been eligible to be issued with a statement of attainment (even though one may not be issued until the end of the qualification/cluster of units), this includes recognition of prior learning (RPL). A completion is not recorded for credit transfers, students who withdrew or students that did not achieve competence.
