What is the Definition of a Battleground State?
A battleground state, or swing state as its otherwise called is defined as meaning, a state where no political candidate has overwhelming support, meaning that any of the states major candidates has a chance at winning the state’s electoral college votes. These states are usually targets of the major political parties in elections because winning a battleground state is the best way to gain electoral votes. Non battleground states are called safe states because one party has strong support, so it is safe to assume that they will win the states votes.
