What is the deferral process?
An applicant must notify the Planning Commission in writing if he/she would like to defer a case to a later hearing. This notification can be faxed to P&Z staff at 703.838.6393. The applicant must also send out new notices informing adjacent property owners of the new hearing date. If a case has been deferred three times, the Planning Commission may, at its discretion, not permit the case to be heard.
