• ARPA for Ethernet lines • SNAP for IEEE 802.2 media • Vines-tr for Token Rings Banyan is in a transition in regard to its Ethernet and Token Ring encapsulations. The new encapsulation for both media will be a SNAP header that uses types 0x80C4 and 0x80C5.
