What is the Default DMZ Server?
You are correct. DMZ will allow you to add one IP address. And, it will only allow you to enter the last number of the IP address of the device you want to use DMZ with. That’s because, your Local IP, something like 192.168.1.XXX, is the same for all devices that connect to your router except for the last number. You changed the PS3 so it’s IP ends in 80, therefore, the last number you would enter for DMZ is 80. DMZ is only good for one ip address. You could get another small router with DHCP, allows it’s WAN IP address to be that as assigned to the DMZ, and then connect your PS3 and xBox to the router. You are still up against only having one DMZ host, but since this router is solely for your PS3 and xBox, you could open ports, turn off the firewall, and make it much easier for the two devices to make connections. Are you doing the right thing by using DMZ… well, I’ve never needed to use it for a PS3 or xBox. Is it perfectly safe? Friend, we live in an imperfect world. I don’t use D
