What is the decode quality of CineForm RAW?
CineForm RAW decodes to a 4:4:4 RGB data image at 10-bits per channel. It has a 32-bit floating point internal processing engine, so any color or “look” metadata applied through the IRIDAS color-management pipeline is completely non-destructive, having support for both over-whites and sub-black areas. Look files can be swapped out in post, utilizing the same RAW source data for unlimited flexibility in shaping footage to the creative desires of the project. Silicon Imaging has spent extensive time developing one of the best demosaicing algorithms in the industry. Our non-linear approach compensates for the myriad of bayer interpolation artifacts that other algorithms exhibit NOTE: For more information about CineForm RAW, please download a detailed white-paper here.
