Medical malpractice payers, including self-insured organizations, are required to report a payment within 30 days from the date the payment was made. Missing the deadline does not excuse the reporter from filing a required payment report. The penalty for not reporting a medical malpractice payment is up to $11,000 dollars per occurrence.
