What is the deadline for submitting a completed absentee ballot?
Return completed absentee ballots and Displaced Voter Affidavits by April 21 st for the primary and by May 19 th for the general election to the Orleans Registrar of Voters, 1300 Perdido Street, Room 1W23, New Orleans, LA 70112 by mail or by fax (504) 658-8315. NOTE: Your Displaced Voter Affidavit requires the signatures of two witnesses or a notary and a statement that says – “Made under penalty of perjury for providing false or fraudulent information.” Ballots returned by fax must also be accompanied by a statement waiving your right to a secret ballot such as, “I understand that I have forfeited my right to a secret ballot by returning my completed absentee ballot by fax.” A waiver may be provided with your absentee ballot.
