What is the deadline for setting up an HSA and making contributions?
As long as you are enrolled in an HDHP the entire month of December, you are eligible to establish your HSA by December 1 of the calendar year and contribute the full annual maximum to the account. Please see the FAQ called “testing period” for additional requirements that apply. The account holder has until April 15 to make contributions to the HSA for the previous calendar year.
