What is the DD Community Advocacy Coalition?
The DD CAC consists of 38 statewide organizations whose purpose is to provide a unified voice in advocating for supports and services for people with developmental disabilities. Goals and Values: • People with developmental disabilities have a right to live and work in the community of their choice. • People with developmental disabilities should be provided the same supports necessary to live productive and satisfying lives. • People with developmental disabilities are valued citizens who enrich the lives of those around them. Responsibilities of Coalition Members: • Bring issues to the table for discussion. • Participate in the discussion of issues. • Present organization’s position on issues, or general thrust of position. • Present a description of organization’s activity on issues. • Build trust with other members through authentic communication.
