This is a security feature found on credit cards, to help prevent fraudulent purchases. For MasterCard, Visa, and Discover cards, it will always be the last 3 digits on the back of the credit card. For American Express cards, it will be a 4-digit number printed on the front side of the card, above the card number, and is referred to as the “CID”.
