What is the curriculum that is taught at ST BRIGIDS CATHOLIC SCHOOL?
ST BRIGID’S CATHOLIC SCHOOL utilizes the South Australian Curriculum Framework, developed jointly by the Catholic system and the Education Department. This sets out the outcomes that are expected from Reception to Year 7 in all 8 Key Learning Areas (eg English, Maths, Society and the Environment etc.) and in addition, the outcomes for the Religious Education Program. The Frameworks sets out specific outcomes for Years 2,4,6,8 and 10. The school utilizes specific resources provided to the teachers in order for them to develop strategies to achieve the stated outcomes. Current areas of specialization are Indonesian, Science/Technology and Music/Drama. Computing is viewed as being integral to the daily learning program; hence each class has a hub of computers with the senior classes having up to 6 computers. The school also has a state of the art computer room where students are taught information technology skills. This enables them to implement the skills in the everyday classroom.
