What is the Curriculum Coordinating Council (CCC)?
One of the very first steps in the curriculum development process is to establish a Curriculum Coordinating Council (CCC), which is a representative group of district personnel and community members that advises the Board of Education, through the Superintendent, in matters concerning curriculum, instruction and assessment. All professional decisions pertaining to curriculum, instruction and assessment must be reviewed and approved by the CCC before recommendation to the Board of Education’s Applied Learning and Technology Sub-Committee. This means the CCC also serves as a communication link among the certified staff, Superintendent and Board of Education, and promotes and encourages communication among buildings and levels within the district.
