What is the current status of the Marine Security Operations Centres?
Construction has not yet begun on the buildings that will house the Marine Security Operations Centres. The coastal MSOCs are temporarily located in two existing Navy buildings at Canadian Forces Base Atlantic and Canadian Forces Base Pacific where they are working and testing business processes and information management systems. Representatives from all partner departments and agencies will eventually co-located within the MSOCs, providing Canadians with a 24/7 watch capability. The Centres are already effectively identifying, tracking and reporting marine activity.
