What is the current status of research related to EMF?
Since the 1970s, there have been concerns that EMF may affect human health. Many studies have been conducted around the world to address these concerns. After more than 30 years of research that includes thousands of studies, no health agency, including the World Health Organization and Health Canada, has concluded that exposure to EMF at the levels associated with power lines causes any long-term adverse affect on human, plant or animal health. The Heartland Project Team recognizes that some people may still be concerned about EMF and we treat hose concerns very seriously. Our approach to EMF is guided by the conclusions of national and international health agencies, including Health Canada and the World Health Organization, which periodically review the large body of research on EMF. The Heartland Team is committed to providing information to people with questions about EMF.
