What is the current status of Ethiopia in the eyes of both CoST and TI?
I should not speak for TI per see because we have a TI chapter in Ethiopia and, they obviously are much more aware of the ins and outs of what the state is in respect to their work of transparency and fight against corruption. The main reason why I am here – not the only reason – is to be Chairman of the International Advisory Group, which is really the board of CoST. Ethiopia has asked to be included among the first pilot countries. It is one of the seven and as such it will play an important role. Q: Who are the other six countries? There others are three in Africa – Zambia, Tanzania and Malawi. In Asia we have Vietnam and Philippines and in Europe the UK. So Ethiopia is going to play a very important role in this because it will not only be able to taste out but will also be able to formulate the results of this pilot phase and do think, currently, with all of us in CoST, about weather this initiative has any chance of success and, weather it should be applied globally after the pil
