The only part of OpenDS that is currently being developed is the Directory Server and it is very much a work in progress. The community provides an open development process everyone can see and comment on as the work is being done. However, a minimal functional codebase has been developed so the early participants in the OpenDS community can have something to try and play with for experimentation and to get an understanding of the basic framework.
