What is the current reserve requirement for banks?

0

All depository institutions must retain a percentage of certain types of deposits in the form of vault cash, or as a deposit in a Federal Reserve Bank, or as a pass-through account at a correspondent institution. Reserve requirements are assessed on the depository institution’s net transaction accounts. Currently, a depository institution with net transaction accounts between $10.3 million and $44.4 million has a reserve requirement of 3 percent of their net transaction accounts. For depository institutions with net transaction accounts of over $44.4 million, the reserve requirement is 10 percent of their net transaction accounts over $44.4 million. For more information on how reserve requirements are determined, go to edocket.access.gpo.gov/2008/E8-22944.htm. Back to top 3.
