What is the current release of XFree86?
The latest full release is XFree86 version 3.1.2. It is based on X11R6 and was released at the beginning of August 1995. Version 3.1.2G, a beta release, was released the first week of September 1996, in binary form only. Since the full release, the following updates have been made available: • An updated version of the xf86config program • An updated Cards database • Fixes for some weaknesses in the security of Xdm – see X Authentication Vulnerability. These updates are included in the beta releases.
