What is the current release of IRIX for my machine?
Date: 21 Nov 1995 00:00:01 EST The current release of IRIX for all 32-bit systems is IRIX 5.3. This is the last release which will support R2000 and R3000 machines. There is a special release of IRIX 5.3 with XFS (the extended file system; see the SGI admin FAQ). The current release of IRIX for 64-bit systems is IRIX 6.1. The Nov/Dec 1994 Pipeline has an exhaustive table of IRIXes from 3.3 to 6.0 (not including IRIX 5.(x > 2)) and the Nov/Dec 1995 Pipeline has a table of IRIXes from 4.0 to 6.1.
