Design of the force main, which includes investigation of alternative routes and permitting, is budgeted for FY2000, and construction is budgeted for FY 2001. Construction of the force main from the Swift Creek Pump Station to the South Cary Water Reclamation Facility and pump station expansion are scheduled for completion in early 2002. • Why isn’t Cary looking at running the sewer line on the other side of Holly Springs Road? The force main (sewer line) was originally planned to run along the west side of Holly Springs Rd. There is also a separate project to extend a water line along the east side of Holly Springs Road and parallel to the water line recently installed by the City of Raleigh. The Town’s Engineering staff discussed with the City of Raleigh the potential for construction and permitting problems in the Holly Springs Road corridor between Birkhaven Drive and Penny Road.
