We are well on the way to making the new Commerzbank what it should be – the best bank in Germany. The crisis has shown clearly that a stable business model is absolutely essential, and this is something we have in our retail and corporate business as well as our Central and Eastern European business. We see ourselves in a stronger position, which means that we will not utilize a large proportion of the government’s guarantees and do not need to issue any more state-backed bonds. The new Commerzbank is taking shape internally, too. Since merging Dresdner Bank with Commerzbank in May this year, we have worked flat-out to push the integration process forward.
