What is the current on-post housing situation at Fort Meade?
Fort Meade offers Family Housing, Bachelor Housing, Transient Housing, and Off-Post Housing assistance. Since 2002, Picerne Military Housing has demolished 408 on-post homes, built over 500 homes and renovated almost 500 homes at Fort Meade, and this is just the beginning! Fort Meade is also proud to have two new state-of-the-art community centers. Over the next 4 years, Picerne Military Housing will continue to build and renovate to assure that all homes will be new or improved by 2012. Most homes are leased on an as available basis. If there is no home available when you arrive, you can be placed on a roster of prospective residents. There is no preference based on a member’s service.
