What is the current limit on the gate input for EPC’s eGaN devices?
The limitation on the gate is Voltage. Care must be taken not to exceed the absolute maximum voltage rating published on the datasheet. Because of their very low capacitance, it is recommended to use a resistor in series with the gate in the turn on direction. This resistor can be used to tune the trade-off between switching speed and voltage transients.
