What is the current energy capacity generated by wind turbines in Saskatchewan?
In 2005, SaskPower International built the Centennial Wind Power Facility, a 150-megawatt (MW) facility to generate enough electricity to supply 67,000 homes. The facilitys 83 wind turbines are located about 25 kilometers southeast of Swift Current. Saskatchewan is home to two additional wind power facilities the Cypress Wind Power Facility which has 16 wind turbines that can produce 11 MW of electricity and the SunBridge Wind Power Project which provides 11 MW of electricity to the SaskPower grid.
