What is the Cuneiform Script and where is Sumeria?
Sumerian writing was printed on soft clay with a nib shaped like a triangle. This nib made wedge-shaped signs which are called cuneiform-from cuneus, the Latin word for wedge. There was a tablet written in cuneiform which talked about the chances of a sick man recovering or dying, and the chances of victory or defeat in war. Two rivers, the Tigris and Euphrates, rise in the Armenian mountains and flow into the Persian Gulf. As they near the Gulf they move closer together. The fertile mud plain formed between them was called Sumer by the ancient writers, although in the Bible it is referred to as the Plain of Shinar. Later it was known as Mesopotamia, meaning the Land between Rivers. Now it is called Iraq. This land gave rise to some of the earliest civilisations. I REALLY HOPE THIS HELPS CAUSE IT DEFINITELY HELPED ME. GOOD LUCK.
