What is the CryptoAPI Private Key password?

1

This is the password that you create during the retrieval process to protect your certificate, and will be used each time you use or export the certificate. We recommend that this password be at least 6 characters in length, and it may be as long as 30 characters. It can consist of letters, numbers, and special characters. The passphrase is case-sensitive (UPPER CASE and lower case letters are not the same thing). To protect your certificate, we recommend that you do not check the Remember password box. The CryptoAPI Private Key password is stored in the Internet Explorer browser within your computer and IdenTrust never has access to it. It allows you to encrypt and decrypt data and to authenticate transactions using your digital certificate.
