What is the criteria for UMnet passwords?
A. A UMnet password MUST be 6 – 8 characters in length and MUST CONTAIN AT LEAST: • one uppercase letter • one lowercase letter • one numerical digit • one other type of character (for example: #, !, $, %) If your new password does not have ALL of the above, it will not be accepted by the system. Also note that the system will not accept passwords with too many similar type characters. (for example: too many lowercase letters) If you currently have a temporary UMnet password, you will need to log back into Open Webmail and try to change your password again by following the instructions in the document Changing Your Password/Password Security on UMnet at http://www.umaryland.edu/helpdesk/help/docs/password.pdf.
