What is the Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) course?
The CPI Training Program is a 12 hour course focusing on the safe management of disruptive and assaultive behavior. It is a safe, non-harmful behavior management system designed to aid human service professionals in the management of disruptive an assaultive people, even during the most violent moments. CPI is part of the Core and Disability Training and can be found on the District web-site. Monthly CPI classes are scheduled throughout the school year. CPI is held on Friday evenings and Saturdays during the day. After the initial 12- hour class, SEAs are required to take a four-hour refresher course each year. The schedule of the course is on the District website.
