What is the craze behind burning crackers during Diwali and in celebration of Hindu Marriages?
In one way to put it, it is burning your excess money, or black money. In another way to view it, it is the wage that you pay for the persons who make these things. Some or other money is for spending and it has to change hands . It has to be spent. The art of pyroyechny is something to enjoy. Let it be like that. After all one man’s craze is another’s living. Nowadays it is burnt not only during festivals but during marriages of all religions, and during an election victory to show the power of the party, or during a minister’s birthday or functions in his family.. In the temples of Kerala, bursting explosives is a daily ritual and the famous TRICUR POORAM FESTVAL during March/April, it was amust and now an act has been passed not to burst crackers. I dont know whether it has come into force. It is there throughout the world.
