Replacing the existing bridge with a new South Park Bridge as quickly as possible is a top priority for King County Executive Dow Constantine. The County has spent $28 million getting the project to build the new bridge “shovel ready.” The design drawings, Environmental Impact Statement, and agreements for purchase of land for the new bridge are all complete. However, the County does not have all the funds needed to build the new bridge.
