What is the cost of living when studying in Germany?
If you want to study in the old regional states (formerly West Germany) or in larger cities in what used to be East Germany (e.g. Berlin, Dresden, Leipzig) your cost of living can amount to about 600 Euro per month. In the new regional states (east) life is generally slightly cheaper, but you will still need around 500 Euro per month there. Do not plan on financing your studies by working in Germany! As an international student you will only get a restricted work permit, and studying in a foreign country is a very demanding task in itself, so there will be little time left for working.
