What is the cost of living in Germany like?
You should be prepared to have living costs of DM 700 – DM 800 for rent, food, medical insurance and other costs. In addition, there will be the costs for winter clothing, telephone calls back home which can be averaged to about DM 100 per month. As per the University and DAAD literature the expenses you are expected to be ready with is DM 1200 per month. The German embassy expects you carry with you DM 15,000.
