What is the cost of children table?
The cost of children table outlines how much child support should be provided for the child/ren depending on their age and number of siblings. The child support formula recognises that the cost of raising children is different in households with different income levels, numbers of children, and children of different ages. The costs of children are indexed each year therefore the figures are different for child support periods that started in 2007 to others that started in 2008. There is also a care and cost percentage table that we use as part of the formula to work out your child support. You can use the table to work out your cost percentage (i.e., the percentage of the costs of children that you meet directly) based on how much care you have of the children. All cost of children tables can be accessed online.
