What is the cost for riding in the STAR Van Program?
A. The cost is calculated according to mileage, the number of passengers and the size of the van, but the average cost per passenger is only $2 to $4 per day. Each qualified passenger receives a monthly co pay and many employers also offer additional transportation benefits that lower costs even more. Most van drivers ride for free, with the monthly operating cost divided among the riders.
