What is the Corvette ZR1s Top Speed?
When Chevrolet introduced the Corvette ZR1, its top speed was promised to be in the 200-range. All the right pieces were in place for a 200 mph-plus street fighter. The supercharged L9 engine is listed at 6.2-liters with 620-horsepower output; better than a 1 horsepower power liter. The transmission is a close-space six-speed manual. It is supercharged, so the extra horsepower is pushed instantly into the manifold. The low aspect ratio rear wheels are 20 inches wide, and the fronts are 19. In extensive testing by Chevrolet engineers and technical staff, they found that the top end speed for the nicely sculpted coupe was 205 mph.
