What is the correct way of writing ANOVA reports… 3 x 2 or 2 x 3?
the first one is a 2×3 mixed ANOVA (because the first factor has two levels and is between-subjects, and the second factor has three levels and is within-subjects) This is a two-way ANOVA but you should always be more specific by saying 2 x 2 The second one is another mixed ANOVA but this time you say it is a 3×2 mixed ANOVA (because the first factor has three levels and is between subjects and the second factor has three levels and is a between subjects design) It doesn’t really matter which way round you put it though. “2×3 Mixed ANOVA” and “3×2 Mixed ANOVA” are basically saying the same thing – that there are two factors, one with 2 levels and one with 3 levels.
