Most hackers use a headered ROM image of the American (U) version of Super Mario World. Nintendo released four versions of Super Mario World for SNES. These versions are Japanese (J), American (U), European (E) (V1.0) and European (E) (V1.1). Nintendo also released SMAS+SMW for SNES. This ROM contains both Super Mario All-Stars and Super Mario World. A few SMW hackers use SMAS+SMW. Nintendo also released Super Mario Advance 2, the GBA version of SMW. The hacks and tools for the SNES game do not work with SMA2.
