There is a lot of confusion surrounding proper grammar and terminology for microdermabrasion. I will list a few examples of common spelling practices. Obviously “microdermabrasion” is the correct spelling but below are a few subtle variations. dermabrasion – Usually refers to a medical procedure called skin planeing which actually abrades the skin much like a scrape wound. This procedure improves the appearance of scars resulting from acne, chicken pox, and accidents. It is also used to treat tattoos, age spots, chronic sun damage, wrinkling, precancerous skin degeneration, and other diseases.
