All gold, unless you have nuggets or dust, has been previously melted somewhere along the line. Jewelers (and anybody else) can buy gold bars, gold leaf, and gold wire. I am not a jeweler, but I can run the numbers for you. Your 9 gram 9K bracelet is only 3.375 grams of gold, and 5.625 grams of “other” metals. By the way, 9K gold cannot be legally called “jewelry” in some states. White gold is most often 18K, a jeweler probably will not offer you rings in 9K gold. 9 grams of 18K white gold would contain 6.750 grams of gold and 2.250 grams of “other” metal. The jeweler is probably not going to melt the bracelet down and make rings out of it. He may not be interested in it at all, or he may give you credit for it. The gold in it is worth at least a hundred dollars or so.
