What is the correct (Korean) pronunciation of Hyundai?
I am Canadian born but my parents are both Korean. It is not a marketing ploy. Ask any Korean. If you look at Hyundai in its Korean character form (현대), it is pronounced heeyun-deh but the huh and yuh are prounounced with a liason. “Hee-un-day” is a very close pronunciation as well. Sometimes out of laziness, it may be pronounced “hunday”. Korean uses a lot of aspiration so it’s not always clearly heard. It is 100% NOT pronounced hi-yun-day, hi-yun-die, huhn-die or huh-yun-die. If a Korean pronounced it any of the aforemetioned ways, they would be laughed at.
