What is the Core Measures vendor verification process?
In November of 2001, JCAHO released final technical specifications for all core measures to be listed in measurement systems. All potential Core Measures vendors had through May of 2002 to embed the measures sets they want to support and undergo verification by JCAHO to ensure they are in line with JCAHO specifications. CareScience supports all four initial core measures sets and received verification for its Core Measures Reporting Solution on May 17, 2002. Initially there were only 46 vendors who intended to embed all 4 core measures sets into to their performance measurement systems (down from the original 200 approved ORYX vendors). As of today, only 44 vendors are fully verified, and CareScience is one of them. JCAHO reserves the right to update their risk adjustment variables every quarter, and all vendors must incorporate these changes within a specified timeframe.
