By signing it you undertake to abide by the conditions of the ‘The Copyright And Related Rights Regulations 2003’. You need to declare that you will be using the photocopy for research for a non-commercial purpose or for private study and will not supply a copy to any other person. Should you need to request an interlibrary loan of a journal article or conference paper for commercial purposes, you do not need to complete a copyright declaration form, but you will need to provide a budget code to cover the additional copyright fee charged by the British Library. If you ask for an entire book, thesis, journal issue or similar you do not need to fill one in as it will not involve any copying.
