What is the Consumer Directed Assistance Program and who qualifies?
This program is a Medicaid homecare program. The program is over seen by The Southern Tier Independence Center. The consumer is responsible for hiring, firing, training and directing the aide. This type of aide is able to do some nursing tasks if needed. Any client who is alert, oriented, self directing and not able to find help from the licensed agencies may qualify. Casa would evaluate the consumer for this program.
