From 1 January 1979 to 31 December 1981 Bryanston was a member of the pool of underwriters managed by H S Weavers (Underwriting) Agencies Limited known as the “Weavers Stamp”. Members of the Weavers Stamp underwrote business on a several rather than joint basis, each member being liable for its own obligations only, and not the obligations of other underwritten members. Bryanston also carried on business through the agency of CR Driver & Company Limited (“Drivers”). Drivers was authorised to act for Bryanston for two underwriting years, 1980 and 1981. For further information on this please see the Explanatory Statement in the Scheme document. The business written by Bryanston as a member of Weavers Stamp or through Drivers has been handled by KWELM Management Services Ltd.
